Gallifrey One 2013 Guest Update

| The fine folks behind the upcoming Gallifrey One convention have announced another batch of guests, with some familiar names and some new faces, and certainly some folks we at Radio Free Skaro look forward to seeing and hearing speak. |
 Dan Hall is the executive producer of the Doctor Who DVD range, responsible for so many facets of the wonderful shiny discs made available every month. This is Dan’s first Gallifrey One appearance. |
 Ed Stradling has produced more special features for the DVD range than can adequately be covered in this blog post, not the least of which is the recent – and amazing – Second Time Around, a look at Patrick Troughton. This will be his first trip to Gallifrey One. |
 Steve Roberts, making a return appearance, rounds out the triumvirate of DVD-related guests now confirmed for the 2013 iteration of Gallifrey One. Steve was last at Gally in 2012, talking about the recently-found episodes of Galaxy 4 and The Underwater Menace. |
 Friend of the show Phil Ford will, like the Three Who Rule, be making his fifth consecutive Gallifrey One appearance. Phil was the lead writer for the later years of The Sarah Jane Adventures and of course worked on Doctor Who proper as well as the recent video games. Doubtless Phil will be discussing Wizards vs Aliens, his latest project with former Doctor Who show runner Russell T Davies. |
 Keith Temple wrote Planet of the Ood for the fourth series of Doctor Who, and will be returning to Gallifrey One after a lengthy absence. |
| Other Doctor Who guests announced for The 24 Hours of Gallifrey One are comics writers Len Wein and Josh Fialkov, illustrators Blair Shedd and Paul Hanley, writers Robert Smith? and Graeme Burk, and Inspector Spacetime himself Travis Richey. Genre guests recently announced are David Gerrold, Barbara Hambly, Marv Wolfman, Nancy Holder, Gillian Horvath, David Wise, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Darin Henry, Paul Salamoff and Debbie Viguie. |

Radio Free Skaro #328 – A Fistful of Kahlers
< Steven returns this week to the Radio Free Skaro fold after spending the previous week in a Doctor Who-less desolation in the form of the lakes area of Northern Wisconsin. A completely different desolate location (namely, Almeria, Spain) served as the backdrop of Episode Three of Series 7a of Doctor Who, A Town Called Mercy, a sharp-looking homage to the many spaghetti Westerns that were filmed in its environs. The Three Who Rule were surprisingly all on the same page when it comes to how well writer Toby Whithouse, director Saul Metzstein, and the rest of the team brought this episode to being… Also, an unexpected deluge of viewing figures dominates the news list, but is punctuated by the unqualified ratings success of Doctor Who on SPACE in Canada and the gradual realization that what has always been a niche show north of the 49th parallel is becoming part of the mainstream. And, no, we don’t know how to deal with that, either. |

This week Video Free Skaro visits Cos and Effect, Vancouver’s big cosplay convention where you’re likely to run into Batman, Link, Ringo Starr and trolls from Homestuck, often all at once. Warren interviews Heather Wilkinson, one of the organizers of Cos and Effect, and she gives him the lowdown on what cosplay is all about and how those interested can join in the fun.

Yes, Asylum of the Daleks marked the return of the good Doctor and his erstwhile companions for the first time since last Christmas, and in high style with quite literally EVERY DALEK EVER making an appearance. What did the Three Who Rule think of Asylum? You’ll just have to tune in and find out, but suffice it to say their opinions were less than uniform.
