| With the Regenerations box set, perhaps rightly, bypassing North America, those of us in Region 1 will be looking forward to November 19 for a pre-anniversary treat. The Tenth Planet, a seminal story in Doctor Who’s history, will see its DVD release on this side of the Atlantic.
Bonus materials, aka VAM, included on the release naturally mirror those of the Region 2 release and include the reconstruction of Episode 4 that appeared on the VHS release early last decade, the eagerly-awaited William Hartnell interview, commentary and more – and of course this features the animated version of Episode 4 previously released with the Regenerations box set version. UPDATE: Doctorwho.tv have released the full details of the release! Read about it here. A bumper 2-DVD set, MSRP for The Tenth Planet will be $34.98. Check TVShowsOnDVD.com for more details! |

“Whimsical yet terrifying” is an apt way to describe “The Crimson Horror,” this week’s commentary, but also an accurate portrayal of current Who news. What missive struck fear into the stalwart hearts of the Three Who Rule? Possibly the fact that CBC executives wanted to dub over Christopher Eccleston’s Northern England accent with something more suitable to Canadian ears. Perhaps a Newfie accent would have made more sense. Or perhaps it was the notion that filming on Series 8 of Doctor Who won’t begin until January? The horror continued with a discussion of David Lee Roth’s storied career, what constitutes a bad fan (hint: probably everything) and more! And that’s before the commentary, with special guest Deb Stanish of the Verity Podcast! Enjoy!

With San Diego Comic Con looming in just a week’s time, the news list was filled to bursting with silly plastic dolls, lunch boxes and of course the con itself, which will feature a Sunday session with Steven Moffat, Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, and Mark Gatiss, as well as the iconic David Bradley who appears as the iconic William Hartnell in the iconic Adventures in Space and Time. But before SDCC comes the BBC Proms, a snippet of which you will hear on this very program! Toss in DVDs, ebooks, telesnaps and more and you’ve got a veritable gumbo of podcast goodness of #sharknado proportions. But wait, there’s more! A “The Bells of Saint John” commentary with which to fill your earholes with mirth, glee and mirth-glee! Listen! Now! |

| One week after North America gets The Ice Warriors and Scream of the Shalka on DVD, on September 24, those of us on this side of the Atlantic will be able to buy the complete Seventh Series of Doctor Who on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The release, set to include both Christmas Specials (The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe and The Snowmen) and the other 13 episodes from this most recent series, will have bonus features such as episode prequels, behind the scenes featurettes, some content from The Nerdist and several specials including Pond Life. Audio commentaries are also included, but the information we’ve got at this point doesn’t say how many episodes have commentaries; don’t be surprised if commentary isn’t included for every episode (but soon enough the Radio Free Skaro commentaries for Series 7 will all be available!). MSRP for the DVD release is $79.99 while the MSRP for the Blu-Ray release is $89.99; click on the artwork above for a larger image. Check TVShowsOnDVD.comfor more details! |
