Hey! It’s another podcast from the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance! In this episode, Martyn from the Bad Wilf Podcast and David Monteith of the Geek Syndicate Podcast venture down to the Valiant 2 Convention in Sheffield, UK (which took place on March 5). There, they interviewed several notable people such as writers Joe Lidster (Sarah Jane Adventures) and Simon Guerrier (Short Trips, Big Finish), Clifford Rose and David Weston (who both appeared in the 1981 serial Warriors’ Gate), Roy Spencer (from The Ark and Fury From The Deep), and the wonderful Sophie Aldred, who of course played Ace from 1987-89. Have a listen! |

Extreme spoilerphobes should of course beware, but here are the titles for the first seven episodes of Doctor Who, Series 6. The last of the gaps were filled in by Doctor Who Magazine in issue 433.
Factored in with the previous announcement of episode 11’s “The God Complex”, we’ve now got a majority of the Series 6 titles. Now to deal with the wait until the episodes actually go out…
Our opinion has always been that if the information has been released by an official source then it’s not a spoiler, though we realize not everyone shares that opinion.]]>

The Oxford Literary Festival took place in April 2011 and featured a panel of Doctor Who writers on April 3. The panel, titled Doctor Who: Bigger On The Inside, featured noted Doctor Who novel writers Trevor Baxendale, Colin Brake, Justin Richards, and Oli Smith. After the panel, TMDWP’s Luke Harrison, on behalf of the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance, sat down and talked with all these fine gentlemen, the results of which can be heard here. Enjoy! |

In a stunning move that surprised absolutely nobody, it has finally, formally been announced that Doctor Who will have an April 23 UK start date for the next series. Previously the BBC only publicly stated the series would begin at Easter; Doctor Who Magazine issue 433 has now said the series will begin April 23 on BBC One.
The news was of course widely expected once BBC America announced an April 23 start date, and then SPACE followed suit, but it’s nice to have the speculation entirely out of the way.
Check out the four special DWM 433 covers, featuring the announcement, here!. Note there’s what some might consider a spoiler on the cover, so you’ve been duly warned!]]>

A week after Radio Free Skaro’s thorough examination of Doctor Who’s long and storied history in Canada, the Three Who Rule take a hard left turn into the realm of Norman Kay, composer of three stories from Doctor Who’s embryonic years, as his work was the subject of talk in this week’s Miniscope. To help in the discussion (or basically lead), Radio Free Skaro’s own GetGlue guru Emily Kausilik, a noted music expert in her own right, was brought in to offer her expertise on not only Kay’s music, but how music in general was composed and used in 1960s Doctor Who. And, hey, it’s not often that you get to hear a discussion on 1960s Doctor Who music, is it? |
