| It has been learned that due to the American Memorial Day holiday, BBC America will be delaying the broadcast of Doctor Who. Series 6 will get a gap between episode 5, The Rebel Flesh, and episode 6, The Almost People because of the long weekend. The Rebel Flesh will go out as expected this weekend, May 21, but The Almost People will not be seen until June 4.
As partial compensation for the delay, BBC America will be showing a Doctor Who marathon on May 28 featuring the entire run of Series 5 and all of Series 6 to that point, including an encore presentation of The Rebel Flesh, but skipping over A Christmas Carol. Unfortunately, SPACE has to follow BBC America’s lead and will also be preempting The Almost People on May 28, though instead of showing any Doctor Who at the usual 8:00 PM EDT time slot, SPACE is showing the Will Smith movie I, Robot. This development is disappointing, especially since both BBC America and SPACE fought so hard to get day and date transmissions of Doctor Who with the UK. Nothing is yet known how or if this may impact the latter half of the series to be broadcast this fall. |

| Continuing with the tradition of DVD releases coming the second Tuesday of the month in North America, the first Doctor Who DVD title for September 2011 has been announced for September 13. The much-anticipated Jon Pertwee story Day of the Daleks DVD will see a two-disc release, including revamped visual effects and Dalek voices provided by Nick Briggs, the modern voice of the Skaro baddies. In addition, the set will have the usual commentary, multiple documentaries and in what sounds to be a corker, a featurette on the UNIT dating controversy, plus more fun stuff
Each month usually has two titles released, though as with the past couple monthly announcements only the one title has been announced initially; keep an eye on this space for the second September release when known. SRP will be $34.98; check out TVShowsOnDVD.com for more details, or click on the artwork for a larger image. |

<![CDATA[Meredith Vieira of the Today Show on NBC dropped by the Doctor Who studios in Cardiff recently to, amongst other things, appear in a cameo on an upcoming episode of Doctor Who. Here's her report as put together by the BBC team and aired on NBC'S Today Show on Monday, May 9.
SPOILER WARNING: There are some pretty big spoilers for an upcoming Doctor Who episode in parts of the first video. If you want to look away and plug your ears, do so from 0:36-0:50, and 5:15-5:23 (the latter comprises part of Vieira's actual onscreen appearance on what looks to be Episode 8).
