SPACE Blog Post – Why Matt Smith as The Doctor is a Very Good Thing

<![CDATA[So who is this Matt Smith guy, anyway? It’s a fair question. Fandom let out a resounding “huh?” when the new Doctor was announced a little over a year ago. Not only did the then-26 year old Smith go against incoming Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat’s oft-quoted claim that he was looking for an older actor to take on he role, but Smith himself was something of an unknown quantity.
