In about a week we’ll either learn absolutely nothing or possibly slightly more than that as Doctor Who holds a panel at SDCC@Home featuring Jodie Whittaker, Chris Chibnall, Mandip Gill, new companion John Bishop and a “special guest” (possibly the ghost of Richard Hurndall?) and RFS will be there, at home, in a slightly delayed fashion to cover it. But here in the present there’s audiobooks, a new version of the Doctor Who Role Playing Game, and more catching our attention, along with the final part of our Barry Letts directorial Miniscope, covering “Carnival of Monsters”, “Planet of the Spiders”, and “The Android Invasion”! What are you waiting for, Lett’s CSGo!

It’s the return of the Miniscope! Barry Letts has both written and directed for Doctor Who (on top of his tenure as producer from 1970-74) but he finally has his day in our segment analyzing the work of behind-the-scenes notables here for his directing on “The Enemy of the World” and “Terror of the Autons”. We also talk about the upcoming Comic-Con at Home Doctor Who panel on July 25, a bevy of Big Finish releases, and look back at some notable, non-broadcast related dates in history in The Timelash!

It’s another exciting week in Doctor Who-age as the latest non-event in the “who is the next Doctor Who” saga reaches its inevitable limp conclusion, but to bring balance to the Force, “The Evil of the Daleks” is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in animated form! Plus Big Finish is bringing back not only the Doctor’s daughter, Jenny, for a second series, but also Sir Derek Jacobi for some audio chinwaggin’ about his legendary career, and of course we delve into Doctor Who history once again as we enter the…Timelash!

Various parts of the world seem to be opening up, emerging from our long pandemic slumber, and the World of Who is no different, with Long Island Who and Chicago TARDIS selling passes to their November conventions, the BFI holding Doctor Who screening events, and BBC America canvassing questions from the Who-polloi to ask the cast of Series 13, currently nearing the end of production. Also, we have possibly the best episode of Torchwood Series One as we join the timey-wimey, Cardiffy-Wardiffy adventures of “Captain Jack Harkness” in our Torchwood Revisited commentaries!

Normality may be crawling back into our disease-ridden lives as Whooverville 12 (in Derby) and Long Island Who (in the form of Time-Flight 2021) announce in-person events in September and November, and if you wanted every Doctor to appear in an interactive theatrical piece named Time Fracture, now you can! But if you’ve been pining for Captan Jack Harkness in the same, no such luck. Meanwhile Christopher Eccleston has returned for real in Ravagers and as if that wasn’t enough, we continue our Torchwood Revisited commentaries with “They Keep Killing Suzie”!
