The first half of Series 6 of Doctor Who concluded with a surprisingly straightforward episode, yet populated with many varied and different revelations and cliffhangers that will, we’re told, change the game as we know it. Such was “A Good Man Goes To War”, an episode that was liked by each of the Radio Free Skaro triumvirate, although some liked it more than others… The Three Who Rule also discussed the news of the week and outlined their exciting plans for June before Torchwood: Miracle Day invades our screens in July. Watch your back come September, Hitler! |

The fine folks at the Gallifrey One Convention have announced a guest update for Network 23, the 2012 iteration of North America’s largest Doctor Who convention!
Joining the previously announced guests such as Paul McGann and William Russell, a spate of cool folks have been announced. Joining the convention are Camille Coduri, aka Jackie Tyler, in her first North American convention appearance; sci-fi stalwart Mark Sheppard, recently seen as Canton Everett Delaware III; Maureen O’Brien who played Vicki in the 1960s, also in her first Gallifrey appearance; returning guest Daphne Ashbrook; Michael Troughton, son of Second Doctor Patrick Troughton; Torchwood and genre writers Jane Espenson and Doris Egan, both of whom can be heard in Radio Free Skaro #241; finally, returning guest and artist Matthew Dow Smith will be at Gallifrey, and he can be heard in Radio Free Skaro #186.
Gallifrey One is North America’s largest Doctor Who convention and Network 23, running February 17-19, 2012, will be dedicated to the memory of Elisabeth Sladen and Nicholas Courtney. And of course, always remember guest appearances are subject to professional commitments.
Expect many, many more guest announcements in the months to come!]]>

| Dan Hall of 2 Entertain announced on Twitter on June 2 that the First Doctor serial The Reign of Terror will have its missing episodes (“The Tyrant of France” and “A Bargain of Necessity”, episodes 4 and 5) reanimated for its DVD release, believed to be in 2012. Hall has announced the animation partners will be Big Finish and ThetaMation.
This marks the second classic Doctor Who release that will feature animation to fill in the gaps of missing episodes. Cosgrove Hall worked on the missing episodes 1 and 4 of the Patrick Troughton story “The Invasion” in 2006. Read about the story behind that release here. |

The Almost People, part 2 of Doctor Who’s sentient play-doh saga initiated last week with The Rebel Flesh, proved to be only quasi-compelling to the RFS lads. Indifference shifted to both gasps of astonishment and grumblings of unhappiness at the “game-changing” cliffhanger to this week’s festivities…and we still have A Good Man Goes to War to look forward to next week (or the week after that, SPACE and BBC America viewers.) In the meantime, stats were examined, asteroid-eating goats invented, and Journey’s End was maligned with a naughty word. Just another normal day here at Radio Free Skaro. |
