This holiday season, Radio Free Skaro is presenting a Fluid Links Advent Calendar! Every day from December 1 until December 24, we’ll discuss one topic from our list provided by you, the listeners. Today: Day 1.
Long ago on Christmas Eve, a baby was abandoned in the snow. Today, Ruby Sunday meets the Doctor, stolen babies, goblins and perhaps the secret of her birth.
Christmas has come early as brand new images are released from the Doctor Who Christmas special – The Church on Ruby Road. As the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, takes over the TARDIS for his first epic adventure he will be joined by Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson, as she makes her debut as the Doctor’s companion.
Airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the episode sees the Doctor come face-to-face with the mythical and mysterious goblins as his life collides with Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.
Little is known about Ruby Sunday as she was abandoned on Christmas Eve as a baby. Now living with her mum, Carla and grandmother, Cherry her world is about to be turned upside when she encounters the Doctor and the two set off on their first adventure together…
Alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson is Davina McCall who will be playing herself as she joins the cast alongside Michelle Greenidge as Ruby’s mum Carla, Angela Wynter as Ruby’s grandmother Cherry and Anita Dobson as Mrs Flood.
Davina said: “It is beyond an honour to be asked to appear in not only Doctor Who but also Ncuti’s first episode as the new Doctor. It was such an extraordinary experience and Russell has written you all a Christmas delight! Now I just can’t wait for everyone to see it!”
Russell T Davies, Showrunner adds “From Day One in this job, I wanted Doctor Who back on Christmas Day! And with Ncuti, Millie, Davina and the Goblin King, I hope it’s a feast for all the family!”
Doctor Who returns this Saturday at 1830 on BBC One and iPlayer with Special Two: Wild Blue Yonder featuring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble.

Doctor Who is back, and so are Russell T Davies, The Doctor (the Fourteenth version, more or less), Donna, her family, new addition Rose Temple-Noble, and a suspiciously cute furbag sprung from the comic book pages known as The Star Beast! What did the Three Who Rule think of the inaugural episode of the RTD2 era, the differences between 10-Tennant and 14-Tennant, the resolution of the MetaCrisis, and everything else? Take a listen, and then dive deep into the Daleks In Colour, the Fifteenth Doctor meeting William Hartnell (sorta), a cavalcade of VAM, and all the other bibs and bobs that come with the 60th anniversary of our favourite show! Wait for it…Allons-y!

Join us starting Sunday, November 26 as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who!
Another week, another absolute deluge of Doctor Who news has buried the Three Who Rule in minutiae. Amongst the highlights are The Star Beast news, Steven Moffat absolutely dominating a Best Of poll in DWM, the name of the Christmas Special being nonchalantly announced by Disney , Ncuti Gatwa looking dapper as usual in British GQ, and so…much…more! Also, we correct the record of onscreen Metebelis crystals, dispel rumours of a new spinoff starring Paul McGann, and kibosh an erroneous story about missing episodes!

As we crawl ever closer to the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who and three David Tennant specials the news has gone from a trickle to a flood and the Three Who Rule are struggling to stay above the waves of information and indeed, this very strained metaphor. We have a release date (November 25!), a Disney+ trailer, a press release, promo pics, writer news, BluRay and Big Finish updates, a Humble Bundle and most importantly, a project to create the longest Doctor Who scarf ever. Thrill to our debate as to what makes a “proper” Doctor Who scarf and discover if you are a Scarf Truther or merely sane.

The controversy continues as An Unearthly Child remains AWOL on the BBC iPlayer, and further flashpoints occur as the Three Who Rule wildly speculate on the continued insistence of the BBC to pretend it’s still 2008 while Disney+ does whatever it’ll do in regards to airing the upcoming David Tennant specials and beyond. Plus animation, a Who exhibit at Riverside Studios, Vicki is back in Big Finish form and Warren has an interview with author DG Valdron about his three-book series diving deep into Doctor Who fan films, “The Pirate’s Histories of Doctor Who”!

If you’re looking for new things to hum as you while away the days to the 60th anniversary and its specials, wait no more! The new arrangement of the Doctor Who theme tune is now in the wild, along with the Fifteenth Doctor’s theme just aching to bust out of your speakers and into your heart. You’ll need all that love because although the BBC will soon put almost all of Classic Who and the various spinoffs on the iPlayer, “An Unearthly Child” is a bone of contention between the son of writer Anthony Coburn and…the rest of the internet. Plus we have Disney+ intrigue and speculation, a new edition of Outside In, music and audio news, and part the fourth of Classic Series Commentary for “Mawdryn Undead”!
