I think it’s fairer to say that Ncuti(‘s monologue writer) took a light swing at the more exaggerated/toxic fan takes on his era (too emotional, too ‘woke’, never stops crying, nobody’s watching) rather than the show itself. That seems lost on many, they’re too busy with expressing glee – ‘see, he agrees!’ – to notice the real target.
